Halloween in Kodiak: Tricks, Treats and Community Fun

Grab your costume and make some plans! Halloween weekend in Kodiak brings downtown trick-or-treating, a zombie run on Near Island, costume contests and plenty of reasons to get together. Whether you live here or are visiting for the weekend, here are a few highlights for October 30–31.

A Favorite Kodiak Tradition: Downtown Trick or Treat

Friday, October 30 | 3:30–5 p.m. | Downtown Kodiak

Hosted by the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce and Sutliff’s Ace Hardware, Downtown Trick or Treat brings families and local businesses together for an afternoon of costumes, candy and community fun.

Visit participating businesses throughout downtown, show off your costumes and enjoy a Kodiak Halloween tradition. It’s also a great opportunity to say hello to the people behind our local shops and businesses, who help make this celebration possible each year.

Can You Outrun the Zombies?

Saturday, October 31 | 10 a.m.–1 p.m. | Near Island

Start Halloween with an adventure at the CGEA Zombie Run, hosted by the Coast Guard Enlisted Association!

Run, jog or walk your way through the course and choose your level of fright. In Survivor Mode, zombies will try to grab your football flags before you reach the finish. Prefer a little less chasing? Choose Safe Mode, skip the flags and enjoy the course without zombies touching you.

The first heat starts at 10 a.m., with additional heats every 20 minutes. All ages are welcome, and children under 13 must participate with an adult. Check the event listing for registration information and arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled heat

Step Inside the Haunted Old Firehouse

Friday, October 30 | 4–8 p.m.
Saturday, October 31 | 4–7 p.m.
219 Lower Mill Bay Road

Think you’re brave enough to explore Kodiak’s old firehouse? Ghosts, goblins and mysterious creatures have moved in, turning the familiar building into a Halloween adventure.

Gather your friends and family and discover what’s waiting inside—if you dare! Bring a nonperishable food item for admission, with donations going to the local food bank.
