2026 Kodiak Mountain Series
The Kodiak Mountain Series, a 3-day, 3-mountain stage race, is all about Kodiak – from its focus on showcasing the beauty of Kodiak’s trails to its supporting local non-profits. If you love an adventure, it’s the perfect way to challenge yourself, all while supporting a great cause and immersing yourself in Kodiak’s wild beauty.
Although the race sold out quickly this year, there are still opportunities to get involved through volunteering or showing up to watch, cheer on the racers, and enjoy some gorgeous days outside in Kodiak. Many spectators love to show up early, hike the trails, and set up at the perfect spot along the trail to cheer on racers as they run by!
If you are a Kodiak High Schooler, you also have a chance to participate in a unique way. Each year, the Mountain Series reserves 10 spots for high school-aged students to participate through volunteering. Ten hours of volunteering with Island Trails Network on trail crews will get you free entry into the Kodiak Mountain Series.
If you are not a high schooler, or you are interested in helping volunteer, email [email protected] or visit Double Shovel the night of May 12 from 5:00-7:00 PM and sign up for a slot to volunteer and be part of this fun.
When: June 18 – 20, 2026

Race for a Good Cause
What’s a good race without a great cause behind it? The Kodiak Mountain Series promotes a healthy lifestyle and outdoor culture, and best of all, proceeds benefit local non-profits and trails through a partnership with Island Trails Network.
Island Trails Network is committed to building and maintaining great trails on Kodiak Island, offering stewardship programs like Adopt A Trail and Adopt A Beach that support the local ecosystem and landscape. Events throughout the year, like the Kodiak Outdoor Film Festival, Trail Clean Up Days, Disc Golf Parties, and Beach Cleanups, help keep Kodiak beautiful and wild.
