2026 Visitor Guide Photography Contest
Kodiak 2026 Photo Contest – Capture the Spirit of Alaska’s Emerald Isle
How lucky are we to call Kodiak, Alaska home? From towering mountains and wild coastlines to brown bears, culture, and everyday life in the archipelago — this is a place people dream of visiting, and we get to share it.
We’re inviting you to help us showcase the wonder of Kodiak in the 2026 Discover Kodiak Visitor Guide Photo Contest! Whether you’re a professional behind the lens or someone who simply loves capturing special moments, all photos are welcome.
Contest Categories
Cover Contest – $750
Submit your best Kodiak Brown Bear photo for the chance to be featured on the cover of our 2026 Visitor Guide. Photos should be in portrait orientation or capable of being cropped to portrait orientation, with space for a title, logo, and year. (Minimum: 3300px, 300dpi)
Interior Contest – $200 per category
Commercial Fishing
Coast Guard
Landscape
Wildlife (all Kodiak Archipelago wildlife, including Katmai bears)
Food & Drink
Outdoor Adventures (new for 2026!)
Guidelines
All photos must be taken within the Kodiak Archipelago.
High-res images required for Cover submissions, preferred for Interior.
Photos submitted should not be entered into any other local photo contests.
Submit entries by Oct. 15, 2025. Winners announced Oct. 30, 2025.
How to Enter
Submit your photos (high resolution preferred) along with your name, contact info, and a brief description of each image in one of three ways:

In person: 100 E. Marine Way, Suite 200 (ferry terminal building)
Please also include a signed Photography Release Agreement

Your photo could be featured in a guide that reaches thousands of visitors — 20,000 printed copies and even more online. By sharing your images, you’re helping tell the story of Kodiak to the world, through the eyes of those lucky enough to live it.
