New Year’s Fireworks Show Over Kodiak Harbor

Celebrate the start of 2026 with a spectacular fireworks show over Kodiak Harbor. The City of Kodiak is bringing back this beloved community tradition with a family friendly display lighting up the waterfront on Thursday, January 1 at 7:00 pm.

Originally planned for New Year’s Eve, the show has been rescheduled to New Year’s Day to take advantage of improved weather and visibility. Fireworks will be visible from multiple locations along the City’s waterfront and from high points around town.

Safety Notice: A 250 foot safety zone will be in place around the Oscar’s Spit area during the event. No unauthorized vehicles or pedestrian access will be allowed in the immediate area.

If weather conditions require a change, the backup date is Friday, January 2 at 7:00 pm.

Bundle up, arrive early for the best views, and enjoy this free community celebration.
