From unique historical memories to bear spray to keep you safe, you can find at all at our local retail establishments.   Kodiak retailers are fully stocked with items to take home to remember Kodiak.
Get started at our visitor center and find out about all of the things you need to know about Kodiak.  Whether you need camping permits or fishing licenses, we can point you in the right direction.

Where to Stay

Downtown Kodiak is a wonderful place to explore the island’s rich cultural history.  Several museums offer you a glimpse into Kodiak’s past. If you want to explore outside of city limits, you can go on a wildlife tour either by car, float plane, boat or kayak. If you're an avid fisherman, you have the option for freshwater or saltwater fishing. Either in a car, ATV or on a boat.
Most restaurants are within walking distance of downtown and many lodging facilities, but a few more outlying eateries will keep you from getting hungry when you are on the road exploring.
Lodging on Kodiak Island runs the gamut from cozy B&Bs to chain motels. You may also choose to fly out to a remote lodge for an all-inclusive Alaskan-style resort experience. Regardless of your budget, you’ll find a place to lay your head in Kodiak.  The Visitors Bureau, Discover Kodiak, will help you sort out your lodging options.
