Kodiak

Alaska's Emerald Isle

Lodging

Regardless of your budget, Kodiak Island has a variety of unique accommodations.  Whether you are looking for a familiar chain hotel or motel or like to lay your head on a pillow in a bed and breakfast whenever you travel, you'll find it in Kodiak.

Important Note about Lodging in Kodiak. During special events such as Crab Fest (Memorial Day Weekend) it is imperative that you call several weeks or months ahead to reserve your room.  During peak season (end of June through late August), it is strongly recommended that you make reservations early.  Some properties are booked as far as one year in advance, so plan ahead as far as is practical.

Hotels/Motel. Two national chains have properties in Kodiak as well as two independent hoteliers.

Bed and Breakfast. Dozens of B&Bs are available for travelers and range from "make your own breakfast" rooms or classic full breakfast accommodations with ocean views and hot tubs.

Vacation Rentals. Several properties offer guesthouses and homes for those traveling with families or friends.

Wilderness Lodges. Fly (or boat) in wilderness lodges offer lasting memories.  These full-service lodges provide excellent meals, opportunities for sport fishing, hiking, rafting, kayaking, photography and bear viewing.

The Visitor Information Center will make referrals or help you find lodging.  Just tell us what kind of experience you'd like to have and we'll help you find a pillow for your head!
